Big offers for Yanders Law athletes

Yanders Law athletes receive big-time offers after an impressive spring AAU showing

During a time in which offers from serious college hoops programs are difficult to come by, Yanders Law AAU basketball is making a splash.

We are early in recruitment season, particularly as programs are forced to wait around to see who decides to hit the transfer portal. Regardless of that, top talent at the prep level can still get a nod if they show enough talent, upside, and mental fortitude.

Yanders Law is a known grit & grind program, helping college coaches and scouts identify the kinds of players they are looking at on our squads.

Recently, our guys Kevin Pittman and Kamar Thomas received impressive offers:

Kev is a seven-footer out of Wisconsin who has committed to a prep year with We Are United right here at The Basketball Movement. His size and strength have turned heads all spring at the P32 League. His most recent offer is from Oklahoma State University.

Kamar Thomas is a 6’5 two-way force out of Minneapolis who is heading into his senior season. He possesses explosive athleticism that he puts to use expertly on both sides of the ball. He recently received an offer from the University of Evansville.

As exciting as these offers are, we are even more excited about the rest of the summer, particularly for our 16u and 17u squads, which are loaded with talent this year. More good news like this is on the way.

Remember - The Basketball Movement is the home of Yanders Law. Stay tuned!

Tracking interest, offers, and commitments

In what has likely been the strangest recruiting and scouting year ever, The Basketball Movement is keeping you up-to-speed on our athletes.

Different athletes naturally have different goals, all of which are respected at The Basketball Movement. Some young players just want to get a feel for the game, some may want to crack the varsity squad, and others may have dreams of going pro. While we work with players from every stage of the game, we have recently been fortunate to be a part of a large wave of high school players committing to play NCAA basketball.

Every player is responsible for their own destiny, so work with The Basketball Movement will only take individuals as far as they will let it. We are confident in saying that we know what it takes to help any player reach their next level if they let us.

Recently, many athletes that work with The Basketball Movement (most of which also participate in Yanders Law AAU basketball) have received offers to play Division 1 hoops. Some have already accepted those offers, and others are still deciding as they continue to elevate their level of play.

We track offers and commitments of our players on our social media platforms, so make sure that you are following The Basketball Movement.

Despite a challenging year for scouting and recruitment, this has been the strongest crop of young local talent in recent memory. Some players are choosing to reclassify and wait for more exposure as they continue to develop. Many of those players have committed to attending the new prep school, We Are United, this fall (more on that later).

For any parents or players - let us know if we are missing anything also. If you frequent The Basketball Movement or are part of #LawNation, DM us or shoot an email to basketballmovement@yahoo.com to tell us about any recruiting news you think we should know about.

In addition to news about recruitment, The Basketball Movement has been pumping out player highlights, news, and more on our social media sites. Follow us on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook as we monitor all of the movement!

College commitments continue despite recruitment difficulty

Many of The Basketball Movement’s standout high school athletes are selecting offers from schools or being heavily recruited.

The Basketball Movement and our affiliate, Yanders Law have been seeing plenty of success in terms of player recruitment, despite difficulties presented by the ongoing pandemic. One of our biggest goals is to elevate players to the next level of play, whatever that may mean to them; getting to play varsity hoops, playing in college, or going pro.

Many high school gym rats of The Basketball Movement have been receiving attention from division 1 teams recently. In addition, quite of few of those young players have been seizing those opportunities and committing to furthering their education and playing ball for the team of their choice.

Whether it is Isaac Haney and Elijah Bridgers going to Missouri State, Desmond Polk committing to SIUe, or Anton Brookshire heading to Mizzou, it has been a busy offseason.

NCAA recruitment has been slowed by restrictions brought on by the covid-19 pandemic. Many of our players have had to lean on their existing body of work, unable to showcase anything new for these coaches.

All credit goes to the players themselves, of course. The determination and hunger to be better is what has propelled them to reach these new goals and hopefully allow them to establish new ones.

That said, you are on thebasketballmovement.com, so we are going to plug ourselves for a minute as well!

It certainly does not hurt during this process to have your name, face, and skillset out there for the basketball world to see. We take media seriously and work hard for those players that work hard for us. During our events and occasionally workouts, we create highlights, hi-res images, and give shoutouts that go a long way in advancing yourself off the court.

So remember, The Basketball Movement is an accessible resource to help propel you in this sport. Reach out to us any time to get started and we will do our best to be a positive part of your journey for however long you will let us.

On another note, if you (or your athlete) frequent The Basketball Movement or play for one of the Yanders Law AAU teams, remember to reach out with any good news regarding recruitment. As you can see on our social sites, we often highlight D1 offers and college commitments for our guys and gals.

If you have any good news, email it to basketballmovement@yahoo or even DM us on our social media.

Congrats to all of our players that are currently enjoying so much success. The best is yet to come!
